I would like to see a more fair treatment offered to the Native Americans as compared to what has happened to them in the past. If you think they are being treated decently, then go visit the Pine RIdge reservation in South Dakota where they live -- or any other reservation, for that matter. The land is poor and impoverished, they live in shacks or less than adequate homes, their are no nearby employment opportunities for them to survive on. People who depend on the government for any form of assistance are considered an unpaid army. If they are lucky to earn $500 a month, their food stamps are decreased from $200 to $65. They are forced to remain poor regardless. They are punished for slowly. trying to do better. Most do not have heat in their home. If they try to build something to improved their living, the government has usually stepped in and found reason to prevent it.
